About Wimbledon
Wimbledon is split between the busy town centre around the Broadway and the quieter, older Village up the hill. Wimbledon station is a major hub, served by South Western Railway, Thameslink, the District line and Tramlink. The New Wimbledon Theatre is on the Broadway, Wimbledon Common stretches out to the west, and the All England Lawn Tennis Club sits on Church Road.

The Championships
For two weeks every summer, Wimbledon becomes the centre of the tennis world. Roads around the grounds are closed or restricted, and queues of visitors fill the pavements. If you are going, book your car well in advance. The driver will drop you at the nearest permitted point, and you should agree a meeting place for the return away from the busiest roads. Groups can travel together in our 7 seater taxi.
Station and Village pick-ups
Outside the station, the Broadway is busy with buses and trams, so we agree a nearby side street for pick-ups. In the Village, the High Street is narrow and parking is tight, so tell us the name of the restaurant or shop, and the driver will get as close as possible.
Wimbledon to the airports and stations
Wimbledon is further into London than the rest of our area, so it is a little quicker to the central stations, such as King's Cross, and to east London and Stansted. For Heathrow, the car normally goes back through Kingston or along the A3 to the M25.
Popular pick-up points in Wimbledon
- Wimbledon station: trains, the Tube and trams all meet here.
- The Broadway: shops, the New Wimbledon Theatre and restaurants.
- Wimbledon Village: the High Street at the top of the hill, with smaller restaurants and boutiques.
- Plough Lane: the stadium area towards Earlsfield, busy on match days.
Wimbledon Hill Road links the town centre to the Village, and it is steep and often congested. If you are not sure whether to be picked up at the top or the bottom, tell us where you are and we will suggest the easiest place for the driver to stop.
Theatre evenings on the Broadway finish at roughly the same time, and the streets outside fill quickly. Book your car home in advance and agree a meeting point on a side street. The driver will call you when they arrive.
