About Tolworth
Tolworth is a busy, mostly residential area south of Surbiton, built around the Broadway and the big junction where Ewell Road meets the A3. Tolworth Tower, the tall 1960s office block beside the junction, is the landmark most people use to describe where they are. The station, on the line from Waterloo to Chessington South, is a short walk from the Broadway.

Right on the A3
The A3 is Tolworth's biggest advantage for longer trips. Heading south-west, it leads straight to junction 10 of the M25 for Gatwick, Guildford and the south coast. Heading north-east, it is the main road into Wandsworth and central London. Drivers avoid the slip roads at the busiest times when they can, and may use the Kingston bypass or Hook Road instead.
Everyday trips
Locally, Tolworth residents book us for shopping trips into Kingston, appointments at Kingston Hospital and evenings out in Surbiton. If you are travelling with a dog, mention it when you book. Our pet friendly taxi service sends a driver who is happy to carry pets.
Travelling early in the morning
Many Tolworth bookings are early starts for flights. Because the area is close to the A3, cars can get away quickly at 4am or 5am when the roads are empty. Book these journeys a day or more in advance so that we can plan a driver.
Popular pick-up points in Tolworth
- Tolworth Broadway: shops, takeaways and the bus stops beside the A3 junction.
- Tolworth Tower area: the landmark most passengers use to describe where they are waiting.

- Ewell Road and Red Lion Road: long residential roads running towards Surbiton and Hook.
The big junction where the A3 meets Ewell Road and the Broadway can be confusing, with slip roads and an underpass. When you book, tell us which side of the A3 you are on and the nearest landmark. That one detail saves the driver from going round the roundabout twice.
Tolworth is also a good place to start a trip to Surrey and the south coast. From the A3 junction, Guildford, Portsmouth and the M25 are all straightforward runs, and we take pre-booked long-distance journeys as well as local ones.
